Benjamin Neilsen, LCSW

Benjamin received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Social Work with dual minors in Psychology and Family and Human Development. He has also received a Master’s Degree from the University of Utah in Social Work specializing in mental health and clinical therapy.

As he often tells his client’s, you are the expert on you! This being the case, he would love to support you in your process of self-exploration and personal improvement. His highest priority is to make your therapeutic experience a positive one, by acting as guide on your path toward healthier functioning and happier living. He takes a client centered approach towards the right plan for you to overcome any obstacles in your way. It may seem overwhelming, but it is possible!

When he’s not in session with you; he enjoys spending time with his family in nature, loves furthering his education and capacity to serve others in and around his community, and has an abiding passion for music and cultural immersion in the arts.

Benjamin’s specific research-based training and experience includes: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Healing Timeline Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Method, Behavior Analysis, and an interdisciplinary approach to addiction recovery.
